I am so incredibly honored and thankful to have partnered with some very talented friends for my very first Blog Hop tour. Now is as great a time as any to look around and feel grateful for all the blessings we have…including people (sometimes even strangers) who encourage us and support our passions. So before I begin, I just want to say, to those of you who have given me the privilege of decorating your home, have been supportive of my passion for decor and/or have encouraged me to launch my blog, Thank You!
If you’ve just hopped on over from Jacqueline’s blog atWe’re the Joneses I’m sure you enjoyed yourself. Her style is so gorgeous! I love how she chose light colors for her table. I found so much inspiration on her page! I also want to thank Jacqueline from Welcoming Home who is the organizer behind this blog hop tour. She is one of several very inspiring friends on this tour, so make sure you visit each of their pages linked at the bottom of this post!
The holidays are all about quality time and appreciating our friends and family. This year, I am having some very special guests over for Thanksgiving dinner, my family. Since we moved to Boston a few years ago, we’ve missed out on celebrating a few holidays with our family. So I’m making sure to show them an incredible time now that I have them here. When you do something for those you love, you do it with so much more passion. Don’t you agree?
Because of my excitement for their visit, I’ve spent the last couple of weeks getting my house “fall ready” and plan on setting the perfect table. I’m going to start the tour with our front door entryway. Here, you walk in to our cozy living room where one of my favorite pieces rests…our bench! This was one of the first pieces we bought when we first got married and bought our first home together. The rustic texture, the intricate woodwork just blew me away when I saw it. It’s also one of my favorite pieces to decorate as the seasons change.
If you’ve read my blog, you know that I’ve addressed that we are not living in our dream home….but I definitely try and make the best of it. It is a temporary house while we live in Boston, however, it is our HOME and so far we’ve made incredible memories here.
When we first moved in, the living room walls were painted this blue. Being that I am a neutral lover the bold blue color was so not-me. But, for one reason or another, we decided to leave it as is…Nowadays, when I decorate around the blue walls with my neutral decor, people tend to compliment the wall color. I must admit, it’s kinda grown on me!
Our home is nice and cozy, aka small. Ha! Most houses in and around Boston are exactly that, small. But they’re packed with charm! We’ve grown to love that. Being a Florida native, there are so many adorable details about our home, including the wood floors and fireplace, that have given us a warm and cozy feeling like no other. When our guests walk in, this is what they see. I love having the fire burning when they arrive. It sets such a warm and inviting ambiance.
This sofa table is as simple as it gets, and it only cost me $100! I love to decorate it for each season, especially since it’s the first thing people see when they walk in. This Fall, I am using a lot of natural elements as my decor, so when I saw this wooden pumpkin I immediately knew it would be a perfect fit. I wanted to give the decor some dimension so I placed it on one of my cake stands. I used cinnamon scented pinecones to add some more natural details and the scent is so yummy! And my family pics?? They stay here year ’round! 🙂
Our living room is also located in this area, right in front of the fireplace. It’s considered to be more of the “formal” living room, however, there is nothing “formal” about this room. The kids play here, we hangout here, even eat dinner on this couch sometimes. But I do like to dress it up a bit, as much as I can!
The pumpkin pillow is from Pottery Barn and so are the beige linen ones…The grey pillows were bought as a pack of 2 at TJ Maxx! As you can see from the wrinkles on the pillows, they definitely get their use! That’s real life here in our home! ha!
The last area I want to show you all is my Thanksgiving Table. Like my friend Jacqueline said recently, having a Thanksgiving table is not only beautiful to look at but it also tells your guests how much you enjoy having them around your table. When you sit at a nicely set table, the food almost tastes better and the ambiance feels better. It also lets your guests know that you put in a great effort in entertaining them. That should make them feel special. I hope that I’ve achieved that with this years’ tablescape!
I’ve blogged all about this table here.
Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed my part of the tour! Also touring today are my very talented friends Gabby from Military Mama’s Farmhouse who has ton’s of great ideas and inspiration and Lisa from Cottage Style who’s swoon worthy home will have you wishing you were a guest at her table this year.
Thank you all for reading my post, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner with their loved ones!
Don’t miss out! Check out the rest of these lovely ladies and their gorgeous blogs on the tour!
