Valentines Day is the most romantic night of the year and many times planning for the perfect way to celebrate can be stressful. Dinner reservations are nearly impossible to make and ordering take out can take hours to deliver. And if you’re a parent, finding a babysitter that’s available is another battle. That’s why Mark and I like to celebrate Valentines Night at home…No babysitter required!
I’ve put together a simple, romantic menu that is sure to impress your significant other! There’s no need to complicate yourself in the kitchen on a night like this. But that doesn’t mean you can’t put something “fancy” together to show them how much you love them.
Most grocery stores will have sales on Lobster for holidays such as Valentine’s Day so that’s exactly what I’ll be making! I’ll save more than half the price than if we were to go to a fancy restaurant but more importantly, it will be made with LOVE! I’m pairing the lobster tails with a creamy parmesan risotto and ending the night with a (very) simple berry cake!
I scoured online for the simplest recipes I could find on both and I’ll share them at the bottom of this post. I like to keep my recipes minimal, meaning minimal ingredients (all natural, of course) and nothing too time consuming.
The lobster tail dish I found looks amazing! This will actually be my first time making lobster so wish me luck! It calls for 4 or so ingredients, just my kinda recipe!
For some reason, I love making risotto on Valentine’s Day. Not only is it delicious and creamy, it’s a dish that requires a bit of love and attention, perfect for a romantic occasion.
And what’s Valentine’s Day without dessert? Even if you do go out for dinner, skip on dessert at the restaurant and enjoy it at home. I’ll be serving (not making) a simple berry cake. I buy a simple cake from my grocery store and wipe off the top part and just add a few sugar dipped berries, serve it on a nice cake platter and no one will ever know the difference 😉 Here is the inspiration for my “not home made” berry cake.
So there you have it, a beautiful, elegant, Valentine’s Night at home that won’t break the bank or your back! I hope you all have enjoyed my tips and encourage you to try something on my menu.
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day and remember to spread love!
